SUMMARY OF COMENIUS PROJECT ACTIVITIES

OUR PROJECT WITH NORWEGIAN, SWEDISH AND HUNGARIAN PARTNERS HAS THE TITLE ‚’BUILDING LANGUAGE BRIDGES’’ AND FINALLY WE HAVE TO PUBLISH A DICTIONARY IN 4 LANGUAGES. COMPILING THE DICTIONARY AND DRAWING AND PAINTING ARE OUR EVERY DAY ACTIVITIES. BESIDES IT WE DECIDED TO STUDY THE CULTURE AND COUNTRIES MORE THOROUGHLY. AS THE FIRST COUNTRY WE VISITED IN NOVEMBER WAS HUNGARY THEN WE CHOSE HUNGARY TO BE THE COUNTRY WHICH CULTURE WE ‚LL STUDY FIRST. FEBRUARY WAS DECLARED TO BE THE MONTH OF HUNGARY. IT MEANT THAT EVERY CLASS GOT A TASK TO STUDY SOMETHING ABOUT HUNGARY AND AT THE END OF THE MONTH REPORT IT TO THE WHOLE SCHOOL. 1.AND 2.CLASSES STUDIED SYMBOLICS OF THE COUNTRY AND LISTENED TO CLASSTEACHER’S TRAVEL IMPRESSIONS. SHE WAS IN HUNGARY SOME YEARS AGO. 3.CLASS READ HUNGARIAN FAIRY TALES AND DREW PICTURES ABOUT IT. 4.CLASS STUDIED NATIONAL CLOTHES OF HUNGARY. 5.CLASS STUDIED NATIONAL KITCHEN AND NATIONAL FOOD, 6.CLASS STUDIED HUNGARIAN WRITERS AND LITERATURE AND THEY VISITED THE THEATRE WHERE WAS PLAYED ``THE BOYS OF PAL-STREET``, 7.CLASS STUDIED HUNGARIAN MUSIC AND COMPOSERS, 8.CLASS STUDIED GEOGRAPHY AND NATURE, 9.CLASS STUDIED ART AND ARTISTS. AT THE END OF MONTH EVERY CLASS HAD TO MAKE THEIR REPORTS WHAT THEY HAD LEARNED ABOUT AND ALSO MAKE A NOTICEBOARD ABOUT THIS MATERIAL. SO THAT ALL THE STUDENTS CAN SEE AND READ IT. FOR THIS TASK EVERY CLASS GOT ONE MONTH.
AND THEN ARRIVED 26TH OF FEBRUARY, WHICH WAS DECLARED THE DAY OF HUNGARY. SCHOOL COOK MADE HUNGARIAN FOOD- TOKANY WHICH CONSISTS OF RICE AND PORK WITH SAUCE. AFTER THE LESSONS WE HAD A FESTIVE GATHERING. ALSO GUESTS WERE INVITED. THE GUESTS WERE DR GYULA DAVID WHO IS THE DIRECTOR OF HUNGARIAN INSTITUTE IN TALLINN AND MARIE SAARKOPPEL WHO IS THE STUDENT OF HUNGARIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE IN TARTU UNIVERSITY. DR GYULA DAVID SPOKE ABOUT HUNGARIAN INSTITUTE, ABOUT THE ACTIVITIES THEY ORGANIZE IN ESTONIA. MARIE SAARKOPPEL SPOKE ABOUT THE NECCESSITY AND IMPORTANCE OF STUDING LANGUAGES. THEN OUR STUDENTS TOOK THE FLOOR AND PRESENTED WHAT THEY HAD DONE DURING THE MONTH. PRIMARY SCHOOL CHILDREN SANG THE SONGS WRITTEN BY HUNGARIAN COMPOSERS, AND 5 AND 6 CLASS HAD DRAMATIZED PIECES OF HUNGARIAN LITERATURE. ALSO EVERYBODY HAD CHANCE TO READ AND LOOK AT THE NOTICEBOARDS EVERY CLASS HAD MADE. THE DAY WAS SUCCESSFUL AND EVERYBODY GOT TO KNOW SOMETHING INTERESTING AND NEW. MARCH WILL BE THE MONTH OF SWEDEN. IN MAY THERE WILL BE A QUIZ, WHERE ALL THE QUESTIONS WILL BE ABOUT OUR PARTNER COUNTRIES.
AND AT THE END OF MAY WE WILL WAIT FOR ALL OUR PARTNERS TO COME AND SEE WHAT WE HAVE DONE MEANWHILE
